Inspection and Maintanance

Plumbing system maintenance - It’s something we rarely do, or often put off.  It’s important, and we can’t stress it enough, like stressing your gate valves, for example.

Yearly Plumbing Maintenance Items

Highly recommended plumbing maintenance services every homeowner should get done at least once a year.

  1. Testing the fixture valves! This simply means opening and closing water shut-off valves periodically, so they don't get stuck or break when you need them the most—especially your main water valve.

  2. In Cypress, flushing a water heater every year and replacing the anode rod will add years to its life. Safety is another important point of a regular water heater maintenance check. Replacing the pressure relief valve every 3 years, verifying the thermal limit switch is working, and making sure the thermostats are functioning properly are some of the steps we go through during our maintenance service to make sure your home is safe.

  3. Cleaning the A/C condensate drain lines at the beginning of the hot Houston summer can save thousands in water damage, drywall repairs, and painting.

  4. With a simple walkthrough and a visual inspection around the house and in the attic, we can find, make recommendations, and point out small issues - preventing big, unexpected, and costly problems from developing down the line, if left unresolved.

  5. Replace a tap, a faucet, or a shower cartridge when you start to notice that handles are getting stiff or harder to operate. It’s easier and cheaper to make small repairs before it's too late and a full fixture replacement is necessary.

We also offer plumbing inspections, which we recommend to all home buyers before they get into a new home, or an old, expensive money pit. Our plumbers check things that regular home inspectors don’t include in their services, often find things that were missed or problems that were simply ignored.
